Women's health

Women's health and hormonal care in Dublin

We treat hormones, not just fertility. If your symptoms are hormonal, we will investigate them properly, whether or not you are trying to conceive.

Most women who write to us have spent years being offered the same two options. A pill, or surgery. An antidepressant, or advice to wait it out. Neither of those options investigates the underlying hormonal cause, which is what brought you here in the first place.

So what we do is we look at the cycle, we look at the hormones, we look at what is driving the symptom. Periods that hurt for two weeks a month, cyclical mood and irritability that your GP has attributed to PMS or PMDD, perimenopausal changes that arrived earlier and more severely than expected, a cyst found on a routine scan: these are not problems to ride out. They are problems to investigate properly.

You do not need to be trying for a baby to be seen here.

Many of the women we treat are not, and some never will be. Whether or not you are trying to conceive, if your symptoms are hormonal, you are in the right place.

The women's health consultation

The women's health consultation is a 20-minute appointment and costs EUR 100. It is for hormonal concerns such as painful or irregular periods, PMS and PMDD, perimenopause and menopause. It is a separate appointment from the fertility consultation, and it does not commit you to anything beyond that first conversation.

These consultations are usually with Dr. Agnes Toth, who focuses on the broader hormonal medicine side of the practice. You can book a women's health consultation on its own, as a first proper look at what is driving your symptoms. Bear in mind, this is not a fertility workup. It is a hormonal investigation, and those are different things.
