The clinicians behind NeoFertility

Dr. Phil Boyle is an Irish fertility doctor based in Dublin and the founder of NeoFertility, a restorative reproductive medicine clinic he established in 2016 after 30 years of clinical practice in the field. He is also president of the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine (IIRRM).

NeoFertility runs as a two-clinician practice, and both doctors see patients directly in the Dublin clinic. Dr. Phil Boyle founded the practice and continues to take on patients personally. Dr. Agnes Toth is an obstetrician-gynaecologist who specialised in restorative reproductive medicine and has worked with NeoFertility since 2017. She is also an IFM Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and a licensed expert in Lifestyle Medicine and Prevention. What she brings to the clinical approach is an additional focus on the underlying conditions driving the presenting symptoms.

This page covers both doctors and how NeoFertility came about, including who you will see when you come to the clinic. For how the treatment works, see our fertility treatment plan.

Our story: how NeoFertility began

Dr. Boyle graduated in Medicine from the University of Galway in 1992 and is a member of both the Irish and Royal Colleges of General Practitioners (MICGP, MRCGP). He first trained in restorative reproductive medicine in April 1995. That training gave him a different set of tools: timed hormonal blood testing, fertility charting, and a systematic way of identifying what was actually driving a couple's difficulty conceiving, rather than bypassing the problem with assisted reproduction.

From 1998, Dr. Boyle has treated couples with impaired fertility. Over many years of clinical practice, he refined the diagnostic approach and expanded the toolkit: a broader range of fertility charting methods, additional hormonal diagnostics, treatments drawn from the published literature, and a more thorough approach to male factor assessment. So in 2016, he founded NeoFertility as a distinct clinical entity, built to bring those methods together under a systematic restorative reproductive medicine framework. The clinic combines precision diagnostics, hormonal optimisation, and the technology to make fertility charting accessible for patients. That included co-founding the ChartNeo fertility charting app in 2018, which now supports multiple different fertility awareness methods.

The clinical approach is restorative throughout: we identify what is driving the impaired fertility, and we treat that. What you get is a multi-factorial investigation, a treatment plan built on the findings, and a clinician who monitors your progress against measurable hormonal targets over time.

Credentials and professional standing

Dr. Boyle holds MICGP and MRCGP, and is currently president of the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine (IIRRM), an international body of clinicians advancing evidence-based restorative treatments. The IIRRM brings together practitioners from across Europe and the United States to share clinical protocols, publish peer-reviewed research, and raise the standard of restorative reproductive care.

Dr. Boyle has published peer-reviewed research on fertility outcomes, DHEA in pregnancy, and Low Dose Naltrexone, and has presented at conferences across Europe and the United States. What you get at the clinic is research-backed practice developed over 30 years of treating couples with impaired fertility in Dublin, and a clinician who keeps current with the published literature.

Dr. Agnes Toth

Obstetrician-Gynaecologist

IFM Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Licensed Expert in Lifestyle Medicine and Prevention, Functional Lifestyle Coach

Dr. Agnes Toth is an obstetrician-gynaecologist who has worked at the NeoFertility clinic in Dublin since 2017. She graduated in Medicine from Semmelweis University Budapest in 1999 and completed a five-year specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Hungary. She is an IFM Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and a licensed expert in Lifestyle Medicine and Prevention. She takes a multi-factorial approach to restoring fertility, identifying and treating the underlying conditions behind each couple's difficulty: cycle tracking, conventional and functional testing, nutrition, lifestyle and psychological support, and medical treatment. She has treated women with endometriosis, insulin resistance, thyroid conditions, recurrent miscarriage, and previous failed IVF, and has a particular interest in reversing the damage done to the body by stress, environmental toxins, and lifestyle and dietary choices. She speaks English, Hungarian, and German, and has current availability for new patients alongside Dr. Boyle.

When you book an initial consultation, you will see one of the two doctors directly. Both Dr. Boyle and Dr. Toth conduct their own consultations; there is no handoff to a registrar or trainee. Meet our full team, including our fertility advisors and clinical support staff.

Treating the condition, not the symptom

The word "restorative" is deliberate. Restorative reproductive medicine is a medical specialty, not an alternative to medicine. Infertility is a symptom not a disease. So what we do is identify the underlying condition driving it, and correct it. When we find and treat what is actually causing the problem, the symptom often resolves. That approach is grounded in published research and in 30 years of clinical experience treating couples in Ireland.

NeoFertility treats the full range of reproductive health conditions, not just fertility. So we look at endometriosis, we look at PMOS, we look at recurrent miscarriage, we look at hormonal dysfunction. Fertility restoration is one outcome. Restoring your overall cycle health is the broader clinical goal. See the conditions we treat for the full picture. For a clinical description of what restorative fertility treatment actually involves, see what restorative fertility treatment is.

How many couples, over how long

Dr. Boyle has been treating couples with impaired fertility since 1998, and continues to do so today. We do not have an exact number of how many babies have been born since that time, but estimate in excess of 3,500, including those coming for repeat pregnancies and hormone support during pregnancy.

What the clinical track record does establish is depth over time. Many couples came to us after failed IVF, recurrent miscarriage, years of unexplained infertility, and after being told that donor eggs were their only remaining option. It reflects what happens when a careful diagnostic process is followed consistently over time. For the peer-reviewed outcome data, including published live birth rates from our 2019 and 2015 cohorts, see our published outcome data. For treatment plan cost, see our treatment plan cost page.
